THE BOARD OF ASSESSMENT REVIEW
The Board of Assessment Review consists of five members, appointed by the Town Board. The majority of the members cannot be officers or employees of the town. Each memeber serves a five-year term, ensuring continuity and experience within the board. Memebers are trained in assessment review procedures to ensure they can provide informed and impartial decisions. The town Assessor may not serve as a Board of Assessment Review member ( Real Property Tax Law, Sections 102(3), (4), (523).
